The outbreak of the Wuhan Coronavirus has been devastating for central China, and stockpiles of supplies were depleted quickly. ACA was contacted in the afternoon of Friday January 24th to charter an aircraft to China carrying surgical masks and protective clothing. A Boeing 747 Freighter charter flight was arranged and departed Chicago on Tuesday January 28th flying to Wuxi with a fuel stop in Anchorage. ACA personnel were dispatched to Chicago to ensure the smooth operation of this urgently needed charter flight. This represented to our knowledge, the first private large scale relief charter from the United States operated in response to this growing crisis.
